Twitter has suspended my account

I am upset. Twitter has suspended my account because of suspicious activities, and I am at a complete loss. I only use Twitter on and off, not on a daily basis. I never send spam or pornography or nudity. I do not harrass other users. I have signed up under my real name and a real e-mail-adress. What in the heck happened? Any of you ever experienced this? I just sent a note to Twitter asking them to open up the account again and explain why it was closed in the first place. I am no longer following anyone and no one are following me. How sad is that, being frozen out of the loop? Now that I cannot use it, I REALLY miss it ;o)

Oddness. I don't "twit" so I don't know how it works, but is there a chance someone else has gotten hold of your password - or maybe it's been hijacked? Hope they get back to you soon with a resolution!

Wow that is really strange! I've never had a problem and i'm always tweeting this and that. I think Twitters had some hiccups lately!

I haven't had that issue but I am new to twitter...I hope that it works out for you...that's just not cool.

Oh no! I hope they let you back in soon!

Oh no!! I got kicked off during the read-a-thon for tweeting too much when I was cheerleader. Did you write to them? They let me back on. I guess you can sign up under a new name. Boo hoo -- that sucks.

Maybe it was temporary??

Man, that sucks. I haven't had a problem, but I've read other people have. They usually are allowed to get back on, though, once the Twitter people find out they aren't spambots. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your comments. I am going to send them a message and tell them that I am not a spambot, and then hopefully they will open up the account and give me back my followers and following...

That's really weird! You would think that if people were being spammed by your account, those of us who follow you would have noticed? I hope they figure it out soon!

I hope this gets figured out soon. How annoying!

Its very annoying. I got an automated reply back when I wrote them just now, asking me to check if my account was REALLY suspended, and if yes, maybe it was because I was spamming people of did not tweet directly from Twitter (and there were some other options as well). Anyway, since I have been away and haven't been much online, my last tweets has been my blogposts, which automatically upload on Twitter, and perhaps that is why. I am goint to mail them again....

Thanks for your comments!

This happened to me once, but I got back on very quickly. Good luck to you!

Sorry about your Twitter account. I suspect someone else hijacked your account, which apparently is becoming common.

By the way, thanks for stopping over my blog. I haven't posted there for a long time, but just restarted.

You have a lovely blog...I'm envious.

All the best,
Christine Z

Same thing happen to me on Tuesday, Aug 18, 2009. I've been mistakenly suspended. I've worked so hard to build up my network and enjoyed conversing with all of my followers and people whom I follow.

I'm too bitter to start a new account at square one, so I'm just hoping after filing the Twitter suspended account request, they'll realize it was a mistake and reinstate my account...but knowing how Twitter's business model is lacking, I have a feeling I may not be returning to the Twitter community until I blow off all my steam.
