WWW Wednesdays

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading and the rules are simple:

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions!
  •  What are you currently reading?
  •  What did you recently finish reading?
  •  What do you think you’ll read next?

I am currently reading a Swedish thriller by author Arne Dahl, which is a pen name for Jan Arnald. His famous books about the fictious A-group (a special force with the police in Stockholm) has been translated into Danish, German, Norwegian, Dutch and Italian but alas, not into English. The one I am reading is Book 5 in the series of 11, and loosely translated into English, its title is: Huge Bodies of Water.

I recently finished reading John Marsdens Burning for Revenge, which is Book 5 in the Tomorrow Series of 7 books in total about a group of Australian teenagers who find their country invaded by the enemy after they've been on a camping trip, isolated in the Australian bush. You can see my review directly beneath this post.

I am not quite sure what I'll read next, but since I am going to try and finish all the challenges I am signing up to these days, it will most likely be one of the books from one of my challenges. You can see the books I've already selected in the sidebar to the right under Challenges & Progress. Right now I am thinking about reading One Day by David Nichols, which will be read for the 2010 Global Reading Challenge.

What about you?

Just finished Surviving Paradise, am currently reading East of Eden, and will probably finish Wolf Hall or Abigail Adams next (unless I get distracted by something else).

I highly recommend One Day! Definitely one of my favourite reads of 2009.

As for me, I just finished Nation by Terry Pratchett, I'm currently reading The Brightest Star in the Sky by Marian Keyes, Dear Me: Letters to my 16 year old Self and Close Range by Annie Proulx. After those three, I'll probably pick up something from my stack of library books. I'm leaning towards Black Juice by Margo Lanagan or Little Giant of Aberdeen COunty by Tiffany Baker.

I'm currently reading The Phantom Tollbooth, recently finished The Bone People and reading next... no idea but probably Keeping the Feast!

If you emailed me about Rosie's Riveters, I didn't get any message... can you try again to booklustblogger@gmail.com?

I hope you enjoyed your Arne Dahl. I really like the series, and I hope it will be translated, because then I will see it as an opportunity to re-read the books in order and review them when they come out in English.

Some time ago I realized something about vocabulary, however. I have read many crime novels in Swedish (they are so cheap) and thought I was good at it. Then I tried Arne Dahl, and it took me ages to get through one, because his vocabulary is so much larger than Mari Jungstedt´s. LOL

You know I 'm fond of classics and, in fact, I've just finished reading The House of Mirth by E. Wharton ( and reviewed it for the Classics Circuit ). I'm currently reading an Italian book by Roberto Saviano titled "La Bellezza e l'Inferno" (Beauty and Hell) . Saviano is a very brave young man who risks his life and lives under escort because of what he wrote in his first book, "Gomorra", against the mafia's bussiness in his native area. The one I'm reading is a book about how his life has now changed into an inferno in which beauty is represented by writing. What am I going to read next? This is not an easy answer. I have a huge TBR pile. Maybe another classic for my All about the Brontes challenge : Villette.
Lovely meme Louise!
