Weekly Geeks June 1: Guilty Pleasures

How great to finally have the time to participate in Weekly Geeks again - and with this week's topic it couldn't be a better way to start. Its Maree who is hosting this week's topic:

So. Weekly Geeks, we're going into the confessional this week.

What's your non-reading guilty pleasure?

Trashy TV? Trashier movies? Junk food?

Okay, one of my guilty pleasures is, like many others, to watch very trashy reality TV/docu-soaps. I do wonder why I want to see teenage moms giving birth to their 3rd child before they are 16, single's dating shows and stuff like that, but I do. I will not list the shows I watch, because they are mainly Danish. But they are trashy and good ;o)

Another rather guilty pleasure is listening to hip hop. I am NOT the target-group for this certain genre, neither the age-group. LOL. I just love to go with that swinging flow, put my hands up in the air and say YO. Actually have a nice collection of CDs and have been to quite a lot of concerts as well.
And like so many others, I adore shoes. Its not that I could ever afford a 600 dollar pair of stilettoes, but one can dream, right?

  1. This was a great post, mostly because I would have never guessed that you were a hip hop fan, that's cool! I've never been into it myself, but I love finding out people who love things that they aren't at all the audience for.

And awesome shoes too -- I'd love those if I weren't such a klutz.

Can you actually walk in those? I'm amazed. If I wear anything but flats, I end up tripping over my own two feet, and creating a spectacle of myself. I've given up.

Trashy & good TV shows... hmm... I went through a phase of watching Hannah Montana. It lasted about a week, and it's almost embarrassing, admitting that. (Please don't judge me!)

  3. Thanks for your comments - and I try not to be judgemental towards anyone, despite them watching Hannah Montana :-) Just kidding ;-)

  4. I'm really loving everyone's posts to see what comes out. I wouldn't have picked hip hop either.
    Happy Weekly Geeks! :)

  5. Actually, my hip hop guilty pleasure has lessened a bit over the past years. It was more fun when it was sort of "shocking" if you know what I mean (except I actually LIKE it, I didn't just pick it up as a "I wanna feel special thing"). Nowadays even highly literate journalists dissect hip hop texts in the book sections of the papers, people do academic papers on hip hop etc.

    :-)

  6. How fun! I love shoes too, but mine are all different types of flats.

  7. Sigh shoes - I'm gradually getting that stillettos may not be the way to go for me (I need a bit more of a heel like those shoes at the bottom) but I think that just emans we should go places I can sit down.

I never thought of you as the hip hop type....that's so neat!

  9. LOL, Kristina, I never thought that about myself either ;o)

Jodie, I know what you mean, and I myself also need a bit more of a heel and not just a stiletto...

Beth, I love flats as well!

  10. What a great post! I didn't participate in this week's assignment because my only guilty pleasure that I'm admitting to is eating chocolate. =)

  11. Vasilly, I think a lot has that certain chocolate problem ;o)

  12. As I have absolutely no bad habits, I just could not participate this week ;)
I do enjoy reading about everybody elses´, though LOL

  13. Heheheh, Dorte, we are not talking about bad habits like chewing nails and smoking and stuff like that, are we?

  14. It is quite difficult to know which bad habits we are NOT talking about (scratching my head).

But don´t ask my husband or children - they exaggerate so!

  15. I feel its more the: "I love reading cheap and dirty romance books, but shhhh, don't tell no one-kind" we are looking for ;o)

Thanks for leaving a comment - it means a lot, even though I may not be replying at once.
